Walking and driving instructions

Blencoe Falls is roughly a 3hours’ drive away from Ingham, or 3hr30min from Innisfail. From Ingham travel 63.5km north on the A1. Then turn left onto Kennedy Creek Rd and follow it for the next 6.5km. Then turn right onto Kirrama Range Rd, which becomes Cashmere Kirrama Rd, and stay on it for the next 58.8km. Then turn left onto well-signposted Blencoe Falls Access and follow it for 5.2km until you reach a car part at the end of the road. Last 65km is an unsealed road.

Blencoe Falls can be accessed from both inland and from the coast via unsealed roads that should only be attempted in dry conditions—four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended. Be aware that flooding may occur during the wetter months (December to April), particularly at Cashmere Crossing and Blencoe Creek bridge.

The car park has no facilities, but a campground (6.5km drive away) has toilets.

From the car park follow an easy 400m, 15 minutes return walk which brings you to the waterfall lookout. Enjoy the beauty of these tall falls from a distance. The waterfall plunges 90 m to the pool below, before cascading a further 230 m to the base of the gorge. Return via the same route.

Longer walks are available here as well – Jabali walk (5km, 1.5-2hrs return) which follows the Herbert River from Blencoe Falls Campground down to Blencoe Falls lookout; or Wet Tropics Great Walk – multi-days walk.

Blencoe Falls is a permanent waterfall. Beautiful all year round. Best time to visit – Dec to Mar.

If you’re allowed to fly drone near this waterfall, then you will be able to take best photos.
