Walking and driving instructions

Souita Falls are roughly a 1hr10minutes’ drive away from Innisfail, or just 20 minutes’ from Millaa Millaa. From Millaa Millaa travel 12km south on Old Palmerston Highway. Then turn left onto Middlebrook Rd and follow it for the next 4.7km until you reach a small car park with track’s signs. The road surface is unsealed for the last 1km.

The car park is quite small, and has no facilities.

From the car park follow an easy scenic track which brings you to the top of the first waterfall (150m walk). Unfortunately, the view is quite limited. There is no safe way to reach the falls’ bottom or a better view. From here, continue on to the main trail and in a few minutes you will arrive to the viewing point of the second waterfall. The view is much better comparing to the first one. Each waterfall is about 7-10m tall, total drop is about 15-20m.

Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 15min.

Be aware of leeches!

Souita Falls are permanent waterfalls. Best time to visit – Dec to Mar.
