Walking and driving instructions

Fairy Bower Falls is roughly a 2hrs' drive away from Sydney CBD, or 50 minutes' from Goulburn. From the Sydney head south-west on the M31. Roughly, after 130km of driving slide left onto Golden Vale Rd and follow it for the next 5km. Then turn right onto Illawarra Hwy and after 600m turn left onto Exeter Rd which becomes Bundanoon Rd then Railway Ave, Church St and finally Gullies Rd. Gullies Rd brings you to Morton National Park. From here, follow an un-sealed loop-road for roughly 2km until you reach Fairy Bower Falls car park (to your right). The road surface is un-sealed for the last 2k. Park entry fees: $8 per vehicle per day.

There are all sorts of facilities near the park entrance, including camping ground, information boards, picnic tables, toilets, etc.; but there are no facilities at Fairy Bower Falls car park.

From the Fairy Bower Falls parking a 600m downhill walk brings you to the top of the falls. There are beautiful cascades there and a stunning view, but you won’t see the waterfall itself. If you decide to come back - total walking time is 30min. Otherwise walk up the stairs until you reach the lookout, then walk down the stairs to the base of the falls.

Actually, there are two waterfalls there - first (smaller, un-named) to the right of the main one, and the Fairy Bower Falls itself. You can walk to the base of both waterfalls. The track near the waterfalls and the rocks are slippery - take extra care!

Return via the same route.Total walking time is about 1.5hrs (2.2km).

Fairy Bower Falls is a permanent waterfall; best to visit it after decent rain. Be aware of leaches!
