Walking and driving instructions
Natural Bridge is roughly a 50 minutes’ drive away from Gold Coast. From Gold Coast travel north-west on the State Road 24 (Ashmore Rd) until you reach an intersection with SR 20 (Southport Nerang Rd). Turn left onto SR 20. SR 20 eventually becomes SR 90. Keep to the SR 90 until you reach intersection with SR 97 (Nerang Murwilumbah Rd). Follow SR 97 for the next 33 km, then turn left onto well-signposted Bakers Rd. The Natural Bridge car park is located on this road in roughly 500m from beginning for the road. The road is a sealed one. The car park has a few dedicated spaces as well as toilets and picnic tables. From the parking follow an easy loop walk which is recommended to do in a clock-wise direction. A wooden walkway leads to the waterfall’s base which is located inside a cave. There is a well-established path which brings you inside the cave. A wooden fence make it safe even for kids to go inside. We recommend a wide-angle lens for photographers to take good shots. At night the cave is illuminated by thousands of glow-worms' tiny green lights. From here, a set of wooden stairs lead to the top of the waterfall. Here you can see falls disappearing in a hole. Unforgettable view! Continue on to the main trail and in a few minutes you’ll be back to the car park. The total walking time (excluding photos) is about 30 minutes. Official sigh says 'allow 1 hr'. Natural Bridge Waterfall is a permanent waterfall. Beautiful all year round. |
