Walking and driving instructions
Zillie Falls is roughly a 50minutes’ drive away from Innisfail, or just 10 minutes’ from Millaa Millaa. From Millaa Millaa travel 2km south-east on the State Route 25 (Palmerston Highway), then turn left onto Theresa Creek Rd (if you wish to drive the circuit anti-clock wise, follow the main highway 1.3km further and then turn left). Millaa Millaa Falls turn-out is 1.6 km away from beginning of the road, then it’s 7.9km further drive to Zillie Falls, and finally 2.3km to Ellinjaa Falls. The road surface is sealed. The car park, to your right, is a small size signed parking area with no facilities. The nearest facilities, including toiles, are found at Millaa Millaa Falls. From the car park, cross the road, and follow an easy walking path which shortly (2 minutes) brings you to the upper viewing platform. You can see the top of the falls only. Return via the same route (total walking time is 5 minutes). There is an un-official track which leads to the falls’ base. It’s quite difficult, muddy and slippery, hence we don’t recommend to walk down this way. Anyway, if you choose to do it – it will take roughly 35 minutes for return journey. Make sure you’ve got the right shoes. Zillie Falls is a permanent waterfall. Beautiful all year round. Best time to visit – Dec to Mar. |
