Walking and driving instructions

Tia Falls is roughly a 2hr10 minutes’ drive away from Port Macquarie, or about 1hour20minutes’ from Armidale town centre. From Armidale head south-west on the A15 for 25km. In Uralla turn left onto Thunderbolts Way and follow it until you reach Walcha (42km). From Walcha travel east on the B56 for 36km. Then turn left onto well-signposted Tia Falls Rd, which is unsealed road. You will reach Tia Falls parking and campground in 7km. The road is a gravel one.

The car park associated with the campsite has all sorts of facilities, including toilets, picnic tables, BBQ and track’s signs.

From the parking a well-maintained and easytrack, which in roughly 30 minutes brings you to the Tia Falls lookout. The walk is quite enjoyable and offers great views of the gorge.

Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 1 hour.

Tia Falls is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain.
