Walking and driving instructions
Upper Coachwood Falls is roughly a 1hour 15minutes’ drive away from Coffs Harbour, or just 22 minutes’ from Dorrigo town centre. From Dorrigo travel south on the B78 (Waterfall Way) for 2km. Then turn left onto Dome Rd and follow it for the next 1.4km, and then near Dorrigo Rainforest Centre keep to the left (stay on Dome Rd). A car park is at the end of the road (9.3km). The road surface is unsealed for the last 6.6km. A good size car park at Never Never Picnic Area has all sorts of facilities, including toilets, wooden BBQ, picnic tables and track’s signs. Be aware of snakes. From the parking follow Rosewood Creek loop track (clockwise) for 30-40 minutes until you reach the waterfall. The waterfall is partially seen from the track and it is not signed. There is an unofficial path leading down to the viewing area. Take extreme care! Return either via the same route (total walking time 1hr 15min), or proceed to the actual Coachwood Falls and walk the whole loop (total walking time is 1hr 30min). Upper Coachwood Falls is a permanent waterfall flowing throughout the year. |
