Walking and driving instructions

Dinner Falls are roughly a 1hr 10minutes’ drive away from Innisfail, or just 25 minutes’ from Millaa Millaa. From Millaa Millaa head west along the State Highway 25, then slide left onto State Highway 24 until you reach the National Highway 1, then turn right onto this highway and follow it for the next 13km. Then turn left onto Mount Hypipamee Crater Road and follow it for the next 600m. A dedicated car park is found at the end of the road.

The car park has all sort of facilities, including picnic tables, BBQ, toilets and track' signs.

From the car park follow a well-maintained walk leading to Hypipamee Crater. When you reach the crater, continue to walk along the river, upstream. Firstly, you will reach the upper falls, then a lower falls, which is more impressive. The base of the lower waterfall is easy accessible, and you can swim at the falls' pool.

Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 30min.

Dinner Falls are permanent waterfalls. Best time to visit – Dec to Mar.
