Walking and driving instructions
Fishery Falls is roughly a 35minutes’ drive away from Innisfail or from Cairns. From Cairns head south along the A1. You will reach Fishery Falls Holiday Park, to your right, signposted, after 40km of driving. The road surface is sealed. You will need to either stay in the holiday park for at least a night, or seek for permissions to access the waterfall. From the holiday park follow a roadway which brings you to nearby foothills. The track goes through a rain-forest and located in the area of a local water supply system. It's a more or less easy walk with some stairs, hence not suitable for a wheelchair/stroller. After roughly 20 minutes of walk, the trail emerges on a pond, which is basically a base of the waterfall. Return via the same route. Total walking time is 40 minutes. Fishery Falls is a permanent waterfall. Beautiful all year round. |
