Walking and driving instructions

Somersby Falls is roughly a 1hr10 minutes’ drive away from Sydney, or just 15minutes’ from Gosford town centre. From Sydney travel north on the M1 (roughly 1h). Exit on the B83 – Pacific Highway, then turn left onto Wisemans Ferry Rd. On the first intersection turn left onto Somersby Falls Rd and follow it for the next 3km until you reach the official Somersby Falls Picnic Area. The road is a sealed one.

The car park is huge, PAID (8$ as per 2017) and has all sorts of facilities, including toilets, picnic tables and track’s signs.

From the parking a well-established path descends to the Floods Creek. It is a relatively easy 10 minutes’ walk to the waterfalls, but unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchair.

Actually, there are 3 waterfalls there; you can walk to each of them and even walk to their bases. In wet conditions it’s very slippery here, so extra care is required.

Return via the same route.

Somersby Falls is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain. It is a great place for summer swim.
