Walking and driving instructions
Victoria Falls is roughly a 2hrs’ drive away from Sydney, or just 15minutes’ from Blackheath town centre. From Sydney head west along the M4 which becomes A32 until you reach Blackheath (roughly 1h45minutes). Then continue driving along the main highway for the next 5km, then turn right onto Victoria Falls Road and follow it for 5km until you reach the road's end. There is a dedicated car park here. The road surface is un-sealed for the last 5km. The parking, at the end of the road, has picnic tables, toilets and track` sign. From here, follow an easy track which leads to a stunning valley` lookout, then a never ending set of stairs down to the junction of Cascade (to the right) and Main track (Burra Korain Flat, to the left). Follow the main track for a minute until you reach a side-track leading to the top of the falls. Go back to the main track, and in a few minutes you will reach a great view of the upper falls (upper leap). Then follow a steep descend to the bottom of the falls (lower leap). You will reach the falls in 10-15 minutes. Return via the same route. Total walking time is 2.5-3 hrs. NOT recommended for small kids. Victoria Falls is a permanent waterfall beautiful all year round. Note: black and white photos are taken from the Information Centre. |
