Walking and driving instructions
Crystal Creek Waterfall is roughly a 45 minutes’ drive away from Ingham, or 1hr from Townsville. From Ingham travel south on the A1 for 43km. Then turn right onto Barrett Rd, and after 5km of driving slide right onto Mount Spec Rd. There is 'Little Crystal Creek' car park there, 6.7km from beginning of the road. The road surface is sealed, but the road is a winding road, hence extra care is essential. The car park has maps, toilets, BBQ and picnic tables. From the parking, cross the road and you will see a first waterfall (above the bridge). A few stairs lead down to the creek. You can explore the creek further and find some more waterfalls. Each waterfall is about 3-5m high, but total water drop is about 15-20m. The water is crear and cool, thus it's a popular swimming spot during hot days. Return via the same route. Total walking time 5-10 minutes. Crystal Creek Waterfall is a permanent waterfall. Beautiful all year round. |
