Walking and driving instructions
Charmillin Creek Waterfall is roughly a 1hr 20minutes’ drive away from Innisfail, or just 35 minutes’ from Millaa Millaa. From Millaa Millaa head west along the State Highway 25, then slide left onto State Highway 24 until you reach the National Highway 1, then turn left onto this highway and follow it for the next 14.7km. Then turn left onto Tully Falls Rd and follow it for the next 11.5km. A dedicated car park, to your right, is found on a side of the road. The car park has picnic tables and track signs (no toilets). From the car park follow a well-established (loop) track, which is roughly 20 brings you to a track's junction with a shelter and a seat, take a side-track (signed) to your right. This side track has numerous of stone steps which can be slippery - take extra care! In 5-10 minutes you will reach the top of the waterfall. The base of the waterfall is accessible either. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 1hr. Alternatively, you may walk the full circuit, which is 6km, or 2hrs return. Charmillin Creek Waterfall is a permanent waterfall. Best time to visit – Dec to Mar. Be aware of leeches! |
