Walking and driving instructions
Nigretta Falls is roughly a 15 minutes’ drive away from Hamilton. From Hamilton Town Centre head west on the B160. Follow the highway for 7 km, then turn right onto Nigretta Rd and stay on it for the next 4.4km. Then turn left onto Wannon-Nigretta Falls Rd and follow it for the next 4km. Turn right onto Nigretta Falls Scenic Reserve (well signposted). The road surface is sealed. There is a huge car park here with BBQ area, toilets and other facilities. It is a short walk (1 minute) from the parking to the upper viewing platform. From here, you can walk down the wooden stairs to the fall’s base. It takes 5-7 minutes to reach the lower viewing platform. Return via the same way. Also, from the upper platform you can walk upstream for 5 minutes to the second upper lookout. It’s located at the top of the falls – really impressive. Nigretta Falls is a permanent waterfall. The waterfall is stunning after rain. |
