Wollomombi Falls is roughly a 3hr30 minutes’ drive away from Port Macquarie, or just 30minutes’ from Armidale town centre. From Armidale head east on the B78 for 39km. Then turn right onto well-signposted Wollomombi Falls Rd and follow it for the next 1.7km until you reach the Falls Picnic Area. The road is sealed.

The car park is huge and has all sorts of facilities, including toilets (non-flush), picnic tables, BBQ and track’s signs. There is a campsite nearby.

From the parking follow a well-maintained Chandler Walking Track which leads to the main falls lookout and the Chandler Lookout. It takes just a couple of minutes to reach the main falls lookout which offers a great view of Wollomombi Falls and Chandler Falls (on the right from Wollomombi Falls). Best photo opportunities of the falls is 20 metres further on from the viewing platform.

Return via the same route (total walking time is 5 minutes), or continue on to the main trail which brings you to the Chandler Lookout (total walking time is about 1.5 hours).

Wollomombi Falls is a waterfall which might have little or no water at all during dry season. Ideal time to visit – late autumn, winter, early spring.
