Walking and driving instructions
Balaka Falls is roughly a 30 minutes’ drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center head north-west along the M2 (Toll Road), then take the Pennant Hills Rd/A28 exit from M2 (keep to the left). Follow Pennant Hills Rd for 900m, then turn right onto N Rocks Rd and follow it for the next 2.1km. Slide left onto Statham Ave which becomes Bettington Rd. Then turn left onto Yarralumla Dr, then turn left onto Norfolk Pl. There is a car park at the end of this road. The road is a sealed one. The car park is pretty much a side of the road, and has no facilities. From the end of Norforlk Place you will see the official entrance of Yarralumla Wildlife Sanctuary. The official walking path starts from here, follow this path until you reach a creek crossing. Now you will see the waterfall. You can walk to the falls' base. Return via the same way. Total walking time is about 10 minutes. Balaka Falls is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain. |
