Walking and driving instructions
Steavenson Falls is roughly a 10minutes’ drive away from Marysville, or 1hr40min from Melbourne. From Marysville Town Centre travel south-west on the C512, then turn left onto Pack Rd and immediately turn left onto Falls Rd. In 3.7km you will reach a huge car park. It’s a paid parking, so prepare some coins. As per May 2017, it cost us 3$ per vehicle. The car park has all sorts of facilities including toilets and picnic tables. From the parking follow a well-maintained walk which in roughly 10 minutes brings you to the lookout platforms. There are 2 viewing points – one on the right (don’t cross the river); and the second one is on the left (cross the river via a foot-bridge). Both give you a nice view of the waterfall. Return via the same route (15-20min total walking time); or there is a track which climbs to the top of the falls – it’s a steep uphill walk which takes roughly 15-20 minutes one way. From the top you’ll see the full waterfall and stunning valley. Steavenson Falls is a permanent waterfall. |
