Walking and driving instructions
Tarra Falls is roughly a 50minutes’ drive away from Traralgon. From Traralgon head south on the Traralgon Creek Rd/C482. In 6km continue on to Traralgon Creek Rd/C483 and follow it for the next 23.5km, then turn right onto Grand Ridge Rd/C484 and stay on it for the next 9.5km. A well-signposted car park is to the right 1km past the Tarra Valley Picnic Area. The car park has no facilities, but all facilities (tables, toilets) are available at the Tarra Valley Picnic Area. The top of the waterfall is seen from the road. But, of course, a better view is reached within 2 minutes of walk. From the parking, walk down the stairs to the upper lookout platform. From here, you will realize that the falls is quite tall, but you wouldn’t see much. Unfortunately, the track to the waterfalls’ base doesn’t officially exist. If you’re allowed to fly drone near this waterfall, then you will be able to take best photos. Return via the same route. Tarra Falls is a permanent waterfall, but more impressive after rains. |
