Walking and driving instructions
Narracan Falls is roughly a 1hr40minutes’ drive away from Melbourne (when there is no traffic), or just 20minutes’ from Trafalgar. From Trafalgar head south on the Mirboo North-Trafalgar Rd/C469. In 8.5km turn left onto Narracan Connection Rd and follow it for the next 3.2km, then turn right onto Falls Rd, which is an unsealed road, and stay on it for the next 1.4km. A well-signposted car park is to the left immediately past the Narracan Creek bridge. The car park has picnic tables, but no toilets. The top of the waterfall is seen from the bridge. But, of course, you can walk to its base. The walk starts from the parking, goes via a farmland (there could be some cows) and leads to the pool at Narracan Falls base. It’s a short walk which takes about 5 minutes. The swimming spot at the base of the falls is extremely popular among the locals. So don't forget your towel. Return via the same route. Narracan Falls is a permanent waterfall, but more impressive after rains. |
