Walking and driving instructions
Pool of Siloam Waterfall is roughly a 1hr40 minutes’ drive away from Sydney, or just 10minutes’ from Katoomba. From Sydney travel west on the M4 which becomes A32 until you reach Leura (roughly 1h30minutes). Then turn left onto Leura Mail and follow it until intersection with Olympian Parade. Turn left onto Olympian Parade. The Gordon Falls car park is at the end of Olympian Parade. The road is a sealed one. You can park your car either at Gordon Falls car park (picnic tables, BBQ, toilets and a playground), or further along the main road (on a side of the road as per Google Maps coordinates above). From Gordon Falls parking walk a few minutes along the road until you reach beginning of the track (to your right, signed `Lyrebird Dell`); or save a couple of minutes if you picked the second option for parking. From here, walk 5 minutes down to the Lyrebird Dell waterfall. A set of stairs bring you to the base of the waterfall. From Lyrebird Dell Waterfall continue walking along the main track for roughly 10 minutes, then descend to the Pool of Siloam and the waterfall`s base. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 30-40 minutes, or 2hrs if you choose to do the whole loop track. Pool of Siloam Waterfall is a permanent waterfall (a gentle trickle most of the time as per the main photo), but best to visit is after decent rain. |
