Walking and driving instructions
Red Cedar Falls is roughly a 1hour 15minutes’ drive away from Coffs Harbour, or just 22 minutes’ from Dorrigo town centre. From Dorrigo travel south on the B78 (Waterfall Way) for 2km. Then turn left onto Dome Rd and follow it for the next 1.4km, and then near Dorrigo Rainforest Centre keep to the left (stay on Dome Rd). A car park is at the end of the road (9.3km). The road surface is unsealed for the last 6.6km. A good size car park at Never Never Picnic Area has all sorts of facilities, including toilets, wooden BBQ, picnic tables and track’s signs. Be aware of snakes. From the parking follow Rosewood Creek Circuit (which is almost flat and easy wal) for 45 minutes. Red Cedar Falls track branches off from this loop track almost in the middle of the circuit. Red Cedar Falls track is pretty much a zig-zag track leading down to the falls base. Make sure you’ve got plenty of water for the way back. It takes roughly 30 minutes to reach the falls via Red Cedar Falls track. It is the tallest waterfall in the area. You can come very close to the falls. Return via the same route. 30-45 minutes back to the track`s junction, then 45 minutes back to the parking. Total walking time is 2hr40minutes. Red Cedar Falls is a permanent waterfall flowing well throughout the year. |
