Walking and driving instructions
JC Slaughter Falls is roughly a 20 minutes’ drive away from Brisbane CBD. From the CBD head west on the State Route 32. Take Mount Coot-Tha Rd exit, and follow Mount Coot-Tha Rd, which becomes Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, for 1.6km. Then slide left onto a well-signposted road leading to the JC Slaughter Falls Picnic Area. The parking is 800m away from the main road. The road surface is sealed. All sort of facilities, including covered tables/BBQ, toilets, water taps, are found at the beginning of the road (picnic area). From the parking follow a gentle uphill walk which includes some stairs. The waterfall is reached within 15 minutes of walking. It's just a 715 m walk from the parking. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 25-30 minutes, or 1430 m. JC Slaughter Falls is a seasonal waterfall. It's completely dry most of the time. Best time to visit – after decent rain, or Jan to Mar. |
