Walking and driving instructions
Cedar Creek Falls are roughly a 50 minutes’ drive away from Gold Cost, or 1hour 10minutes’ from Brisbane. From Gold Coast travel north on the M1. Take the Pacific Motorway exit from M1 and head west on the SR 95 (Tamborine Oxenford Rd) for 26km. Then turn right onto well signposted Cedar Creek Falls Rd and follow it for the next 800m until you reach the car park. The road is a sealed one, but it is not suitable caravans/campervans/busses. Alternately, you can park your motorhome at the beginning of the road and walk 800m. The car park has a few dedicated spaces as well as all sorts of facilities, including toilets, picnic tables and BBQ (picnic facilities are located along the track). From the parking a wheelchair-friendly (15-20min return) path leads to the upper lookout. Here you can see waterfalls and a couple of swimming holes. You can either return via the same track, or continue on to the main path (sorry, this part is not wheelchair accessible), and in 5-10 minutes the track descends to the creek bed. Swimming holes and the base of the lower waterfall are well accessible from the track’ end. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 30 minutes. Cedar Creek Falls are permanent waterfalls with excellent swimming holes. |
