Walking and driving instructions
Coopers Park Waterfalls are roughly a 15 minutes’ drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center follow William St which becomes New South Head Rd. In Double Bay turn right onto Manning Rd and follow it for 1km, then turn left onto Suttie Rd, then turn right onto Bunna Pl. There is a car park at the end of this road. The road is a sealed one. The car park is huge, has Information kiosk, toilets, Tennis Courts and kids playground, as well as the track's map, picnic tables and rubbish bins. From the parking walk along the Tennis Courts towards Tennis Kiosk. The main waterfall is found next to the Kiosk. First time we went there, the waterfall was completely dry, we did a 20-min walk, came back, then we saw a flooding waterfall (as per main picture). There is a walking path leading to the falls' top and the upper cascades. It takes roughly 5 minutes to go up and down. Return via the same way. Total walking time is 5 minutes. Suitable for wheel-chair (excluding upper cascades). If you've got time, we do recommend to follow Coopers Creek Walk. It's an easy, shady and enjoyable walk along the creek offering a few more cascades and pools. Total walking time 20 minutes return. Coopers Park Waterfall and Cascades are permanent waterfall/cascades, but best to visit is after decent rain. Note: we are unsure about the main waterfall - whether it runs all the time, or it is "operated by" the dam upstream. |
