Walking and driving instructions
Kelly's Falls is roughly a 1hour' drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center head south on the M1 then on the A1. Roughly after 52km, slide left onto Lawrence Hargrave Dr and follow it for the next 2km, then turn left (signposted) onto Kelly's Falls Picnic Area. There is a big car park at the end of this un-sealed(300m) road. The parking has picnic tables and information(map) boards, but no toilets. From the car park follow the stairs which bring you to the top of the upper cascade (1-2 minutes), then cross the creek and walk along the fence/creek (downstream) until you reach the best view of the lower(main) waterfall. At about 350m walk from the parking you will see the falls from a distance. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 10-15min. The upper cascades can be accessed with care. Before crossing the creek, follow the walk which leads to a fence along the creek. There is an un-official track leads to the base of the upper cascaded (5min one way) which can be slippery. Take extra care! Kelly's Falls is a permanent waterfall. Best time to visit - after a decent rain. |
