Walking and driving instructions
Flat Rock Bay Waterfall is roughly a 30 minutes’ drive away from Sydney CBD, or just 10 minutes’ from Frenchs Forest. From the city center head north along the M1 which becomes A1. Then turn right onto A38 and follow it for the next 5.5km. Then turn right onto Starkey St. After 2.3km turn right onto Connemara Ave, and finally turn left onto Killarney Dr. Leave your car at the end of the road (230m). The road is a sealed one. There is no car park as such; also there are no facilities there (no toilets), but there are park and track signs there ('Garigal National Park' and 'Magazine Track'). From the end of the road follow the Magazine Track towards the Flat Rock Beach, which is a downhill walk. After 1 minutes you'll see an un-official side track (to your left) which leads to the top of the cascades. Then descent to the beach via the official path, and turn left almost near the beach. You will reach the base of the waterfall within a minute. Return via the same route (total walking time is 15 min). Flat Rock Bay Waterfall is a permanent waterfall. Best time to visit - after a decent rain. |
