Walking and driving instructions
Sailors Falls is roughly a 40minutes’ drive away from Ballarat, or 1hr 15minutes from Melbourne. From Ballarat travel north-east on the A300. In Daylesford turn right onto the C141 (Ballan-Daylesford Rd) and follow it for 6.1km. A well-signposted car park is on your right. The road surface is sealed. The huge car park has all types of facilities, including toilets and picnic tables. You can see the waterfall from the parking. From here, you can walk down the stairs to the fall’s base. It takes 5-10 minutes to reach the creek and then a viewing point. Return via the same way, or if you have time and energy then continue on to the Sailors Falls Loop Walk (1hr20min return). Note: Sailors Falls can completely dry in summer/autumn. We recommend to visit it after a decent rain, when there is a second waterfall appears to the left of the falls. |
