Granite Falls is roughly a 25minutes’ drive away from Ballarat. From Ballarat travel south-east on the A300 for 23km. Turn left into Clarendon-Lal Lal Rd, which becomes Lal Lal Falls Rd. After 7.2km of driving slide left onto Racecourse Rd, then turn right onto Harris Rd. There is a small signposted car park, to your right, 550m from beginning of the road. The road surface is sealed apart from the last 800m which is an dirt road. The car park has no facilities other than a trails map. The neares facilities, including toilets, BBQ, etc are found at Lal Lal Falls Reserve. From the parking follow a well marked, 2.8km track, which brings you to Granite Falls roughly after 35 minutes of walking. It's not marked, just walk towards the Moorabool River when you hear the falling water. Moorabool Falls is 10 minutes away from the Granite Falls. Return via the same route. Total walking time is 1.5 hours (including Moorabool Falls), or 1 hr 10 min if you are not walking to the Moorabool Falls. Granite Falls is a permanent waterfall. |
