Walking and driving instructions
Alcheringa Falls is roughly a 40 minutes’ drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center head south on the M1 then on the A1. Take Port Hacking Rd Exit, then follow Port Hacking Rd for the next 2.5km. On a round-about slide right onto Kiora Rd and follow it for 1.8km. On a round-about turn right onto Kiora Rd, then in 300 turn left to Alcheringa Reserve. Park your car at the end of this road. The road is a sealed one. The car park has a playground, no other facilities (not sure about toilets). From the parking walk down-hill towards the creek, then you need to find an un-official track which, in a couple of minutes, brings you to the falls' top. Access to the bottom seems to be difficult. Return via the same route. Total walking time is 10 minutes return. Alcheringa Falls is a two-step waterfall, the top step is about 2m, and the botttom one is 4m. Alcheringa Falls is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain. |
