Walking and driving instructions

Curracurrong Falls is approximately a one-hour drive from Sydney CBD. From the city center, head south on the M1 and then continue on the A1. After about 33 km, take the Farnell Avenue exit at Loftus, marked with a 'Royal National Park' sign, which becomes Sir Bertram Stevens Drive. Follow this road for 13 km, then turn left onto Wattamolla Road (signposted ‘Wattamolla Beach’) and continue for 3.4 km. At the end of the road, near the beach, you’ll find a large sealed parking area. Park entry fees are $12 per vehicle per day.

The car park offers various facilities, including picnic tables, BBQ areas, and toilets. It’s best to park at the far end, in areas P5 or P4, as these are closest to the start of the walk.

From the car park, follow the Coast Track for 3.8 km, which takes about 1 to 1 hour 15 minutes. If you begin from the main car park and take the route via the Lookout, you’ll reach the top of Curracurrong Falls after a 4.3 km walk, or roughly 1 hour 30 minutes. Look for the ‘Curracurrong’ trail sign and the stunning cascades marking the top of the falls, a perfect spot to rest. From here, cross the creek using a footbridge and explore off-trail to get a closer view of the falls, as they are not visible from the official path.

For the best view of the waterfall, walk along the creek before crossing it.

Return the same way. Total walking time is about 2 to 2.5 hours if starting and finishing at the P5/P4 car park. For a more scenic return via the lookout, allow 2.5 to 3 hours.

Curracurrong Falls is a permanent waterfall and remains beautiful throughout the year.
