Walking and driving instructions
Upper Glendhill Falls is roughly a 40 minutes’ drive away from Sydney CBD, or just 17 minutes’ from Frenchs Forest. From Frenchs Forest travel north on Forest Way until you reach A3 (Mona Valey Rd), then turn right onto A3 and follow it for the next 2.6km. Take a signposted ("Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park") exit and follow Mccarrs Creek Rd for the next 4.7km. A small car park (1-2 cars, no sign) is found on the left side of the road immediately past the bridge over the Mccarrs Creek. The road is a sealed one. The car park is pretty much a roadside (unsealed) which can hold up to 1-2 cars. There are no facilities there (no toilets). Alternately, you can park your car down the road - make a 'U-turn', and there is a bigger parking (3-4 cars) a few hundreds meters past the bridge. If you are visiting this waterfall only, and not planning to drive further, then you don't need to pay a park fee because the parking is located before the entrance kiosks. From the parking, find one of many un-official paths which lead to the top of the falls. The rocks could be slippery after rain, please take care. There are no official tracks to the base of the falls and to the pool, so please take an extra care if you decide to attempt a descent. Absolutely NO kids! Return via the same route. Upper Glendhill Falls is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain. It is a great place for summer swim. |
