Walking and driving instructions
America Bay Waterfall is roughly a 1 hour’ drive away from Sydney CBD, or just 30 minutes’ from Frenchs Forest. From Frenchs Forest travel north on Forest Way until you reach A3 (Mona Valey Rd), then turn right onto A3 and follow it for the next 2.6km. Take a signposted ("Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park") exit and follow Mccarrs Creek Rd for the next 5km. Then slide left onto W Head Rd and follow it for the next 8.4km until you reach America Bay Track car park (to your left). The road is a sealed one. Park entry fees: $12 per vehicle per day. The car park holds a few cars but has no facilities other than a track' sign. The nearest toilets as well as a picnic area are found at the end of W Head Rd. From the parking, walk down to the view of the America Bay. The walking path has some stone steps, so it's not suitable for a wheel-chair. Unfortunately, access to the base of America Bay Waterfall is closed (looks like permanently). You can reach the top of the waterfall and beautiful upper cascades. Full view of the falls is accessible by a boat only! Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 45 minutes. America Bay Waterfall is a permanent waterfall, but best to visit is after decent rain. It is a great place for summer swim. |
