Walking and driving instructions
Sheoak Falls is roughly a 10 minutes’ drive away from Lorne, 50 minutes from Apollo Bay, or 2 hours from Melbourne. From Lorne Town Centre head south on the B100 for 6km, then turn right into a well-signposted car park associated with Sheoak Falls. The road is a sealed one. The car park has a few dedicated spaces, but have no facilities (neither toilets, nor tables). From the parking, the track gently climbs on the top of the hill which offers you great views of the road and the ocean. Next part of the track is almost flat, and the last park is a gentle descent to the Sheoak Creek with an uphill section at the end. There are unusual rock formations en route to the waterfall. The track brings you to the waterfall’s base and takes roughly 20 minutes one way. From here, you can either return via the same track (40 minutes return), or continue on to the main track. If you choose the last option, in a few minutes you’ll reach Swallow Cave. The track brings you to the Sheoak Picnic area (toilets, tables, BBQ) and takes roughly 3 hours one way. You need to organize a transport if you choose to do one-way walk only. Sheoak Falls is a permanent waterfall. |
