Walking and driving instructions
Stevensons Falls is roughly a 50 minutes’ drive away from Apollo Bay, 1 hour from Lorne, or 2 hours 15 minutes from Melbourne. From Apollo Bay Town Centre head east on the B100. In 7 km turn left into C119 and stay on it for the next 25.5km. Then turn left onto Upper Gellibrand Rd, unsealed winding road, which brings you to the Stevensons Falls Campground after 4.6km. From the campground keep driving for one more km until you reach the day visitors area. There is a dedicated car park at the day visitors area. There are no facilities here. All facilities (toilets, picnic tables, etc.) are available at the falls Campground. From the day visitor area follow an easy 10 minutes’ walk which brings you to the viewing platform. The track crosses the Gellibrand River via a footbridge and follows the river. The track is more or less flat one with no major uphill sections. A perfect viewing platform is available at the end of the track offering a great view of the falls. Return via the same track. If you wish to extend your walk, start the track from Stevensons Falls Campground. It takes roughly 1.5 hrs return to complete the walk. Stevensons Falls is a permanent waterfall. |
