Walking and driving instructions

Paradise Falls is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Toowoomba or approximately 1 hour from Dalby. From Dalby, head northeast on Dalby Cooyar Road for 25.7 km. Turn left onto the clearly signposted Bunya Mountains Road and continue for another 34 km. Be cautious during the final 15 km, as the road is winding. Then, turn right onto Bunya Avenue, which leads to the Dandabah car park in about 750 metres. The road is sealed the entire way.

The Dandabah car park offers a range of facilities, including an i-Site visitor centre, café, toilets, picnic tables, and a campsite.

Paradise Falls, along with Little Falls, Big Falls, and Tim Shea Falls, is located on the Barker Creek Circuit—a 10 km loop walk that takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete.

From the car park, follow the well-marked Barker Creek Circuit in a clockwise direction. After about 45 to 60 minutes, you'll reach Paradise Falls, which is clearly signposted. A short side track allows you to walk right to its base.

From here, you can either return to the car park via the same path (making for a 1.5–2 hour return walk), or continue along the loop to visit three more waterfalls—Little Falls, Big Falls, and Tim Shea Falls. Completing the full circuit takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.

Alternatively, you can begin the walk from the Paradise Car park.

Note that Paradise Falls may dry up during extended dry periods. The best time to visit is after steady rainfall, typically between January and March.
