Walking and driving instructions

Little Falls is located approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Toowoomba or around 1 hour from Dalby. From Dalby, head northeast on Dalby Cooyar Road for 25.7 km, then turn left onto the clearly signposted Bunya Mountains Road. Continue for another 34 km—note that the final 15 km is a winding mountain road, so drive with care. Then, turn right onto Bunya Avenue, which leads to the Dandabah car park in about 750 metres. The entire route is sealed.

The Dandabah car park is well equipped, offering facilities such as an i-Site information centre, café, toilets, picnic tables, and a campsite.

Little Falls, along with Paradise Falls, Big Falls, and Tim Shea Falls, is located along the Barker Creek Circuit—a 10 km loop that takes roughly 3 to 4 hours to complete.

To reach Little Falls, begin at the Dandabah car park and follow the well-marked Barker Creek Circuit in a clockwise direction. After about 45 to 60 minutes, you’ll arrive at Paradise Falls, which is signposted and accessible at the base. Little Falls is located just another 5 to 10 minutes further along the trail and also has signage and easy access to its base.

From here, you can either return the way you came—making for a 1.5 to 2-hour return walk—or continue along the full circuit to visit Big Falls and Tim Shea Falls. Completing the full loop takes around 3.5 to 4 hours.

You can also start the trail from Paradise Car park as an alternative access point.

Note that Little Falls may dry out during extended dry weather. The best time to visit is after substantial rainfall, particularly between January and March.
