Walking and driving instructions

Tim Shea Falls is located approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Toowoomba or about 1 hour from Dalby. From Dalby, travel northeast on Dalby Cooyar Road for 25.7 km, then turn left onto the clearly signposted Bunya Mountains Road. Continue for another 34 km—note that the final 15 km is a winding section, so drive carefully. Turn right onto Bunya Avenue, which leads to the Dandabah car park in about 750 metres. The entire route is sealed.

The Dandabah car park is well-equipped with facilities such as an i-Site visitor centre, café, toilets, picnic tables, and a campsite.

Tim Shea Falls, along with Festoon Falls, is located along the Scenic Circuit—a 4 km loop that takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete.

To reach the falls, follow the clearly marked Scenic Circuit in a clockwise direction. After about 20 minutes, you'll arrive at the signposted Tim Shea Falls. From here, you can either return the same way for a shorter 30–40 minute return walk, or continue on the loop trail for the full walk.

Tim Shea Falls may dry up during long dry spells, so the best time to visit is after good rainfall, particularly between January and March.

Alternatively, Tim Shea Falls can also be visited as part of the longer Barker Creek Circuit (10 km, 3–4 hours), which also passes Paradise Falls, Little Falls, and Big Falls.
