Walking and driving instructions
Wattamolla Falls is roughly a 1 hour’ drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center head south on the M1 then on the A1. In Lotus, roughly in 33km, take Farnell Avenue Exit (has 'Royal National Park' sign) which becomes Sir Bertram Stevens Dr. Follow this road for 13km, then slide left onto Wattamolla Rd ('Wattamolla Beach' sign) and follow it for the next 3.4km. A huge parking is found at the end of the road, near the beach. The road is a sealed one. Park entry fees: $12 per vehicle per day. The car park has all sorts of facilities, including picnic tables, BBQ and toilets. From the parking walk along the road to see the top of the waterfall. You can reach the falls' top in a minute. From here, walk down-hill to the beach. The waterfall is to your left when you reach the beach. If you wish, you can swim to the base of the falls and even have a 'waterfall shower'. Return via the same route. Total walking time is about 10 minutes. The walk back is a bit longer due to up-hill section. Wattamolla Falls is a permanent waterfall (a gentle trickle most of the time as per the main photo), but best to visit is after decent rain. |
