Walking and driving instructions
Curracurrong Falls is roughly a 1 hour’ drive away from Sydney CBD. From the city center head south on the M1 then on the A1. In Lotus, roughly in 33km, take Farnell Avenue Exit (has 'Royal National Park' sign) which becomes Sir Bertram Stevens Dr. Follow this road for 13km, then slide left onto Wattamolla Rd ('Wattamolla Beach' sign) and follow it for the next 3.4km. A huge parking is found at the end of the road, near the beach. The road is a sealed one. Park entry fees: $12 per vehicle per day. The car park has all sorts of facilities, including picnic tables, BBQ and toilets. Ideally, park at the end of car park, at P5 or P4, which is closest to the beginning of the walk. From the parking follow the Coast Track for 3.8km, roughly 1h-1h15min. If you start the walk from the main car park and go via Lookout, then you will reach the top of Curracurrong Falls after 4.3km of walk, or 1hr30min. There is a trail sign 'Curracurong' and stunning cascades indicating the top of the waterfall. It's a great place to have a rest. From here, cross the creek via a foot-bridge and make your own way to see the falls (you won't see it from the official track). Best view of the waterfall: walk along the creek BEFORE crossing it. Return via the same route. Total walking time: 2-2.5hrs if you start/finish at P5/P4 car park; or, what we highly recommend return via scenic lookout, 2,5-3hrs. Curracurrong Falls is a permanent waterfall, beautiful all year round. |
