Walking and driving instructions
Silverband Falls is roughly a 10 minutes’ drive away from Halls Gap, or 45 minutes from Dunkeld, or 1.15 hours from Hamilton. From Halls Gap head south on the C216. In 7km turn right onto C218. In 1.3km you will reach the Silverband Falls parking (signposted). The road surface is sealed. Parking is available on both sides of the road; however, the parking on the left is dedicated for buses/campervans/etc. There are no facilities here (no toilets). From the parking follow an easy and well-formed path which leads to the falls’ base. The track is flat, and the walk is enjoyable. You will reach the falls in 10-15 minutes. You can come very close and touch the water which drop from significant height. The water disappear in the falls’ base and re-emerge in 50 meters downstream. Hence, there is nothing like usual pool at the base of the falls. Return via the same track. It is a permanent waterfall. However, it must be impressive after rain. |
