Walking and driving instructions
Turret Falls is roughly a 40 minutes’ drive away from Halls Gap Town Centre, or 20 minutes from Mackenzie Falls. From Halls Gap Town Centre head north on the C216. On the junction with C222, turn left and follow it for the next 15.2km. Then turn left onto Rose Creek Rd, which is an unsealed road, and stay on it for the next 8.5km. Almost every car can make it in dry weather, but if it’s rainy/muddy, we would highly recommend a 4-WD car for this road. A dedicated car park is on your left, you will need to drive 100m further from the main road. There are no toilets there, however a picnic table is available. From the parking follow a track which gently descends to the falls’ viewing point. It takes roughly 15 minutes to reach the lookout. The track can be muddy and slippery after rain. There is no official track to descend to the falls’ base. Enjoy its beauty from a distance. If you’re allowed to fly a drone near this waterfall, then you will be able to take best photos. The waterfall is pictures, unfortunately it has no water in a dry season. So, make sure you come here after a good rain. Return via the same route. |
