Walking and driving instructions
Turret Falls is roughly a 10 minutes’ drive away from Halls Gap Town Centre, or 45 minutes from Dunkeld, or 1.15 hours from Hamilton. From Halls Gap Town Centre head north on the C216. On the junction with C222, turn left and follow it for the next 2.3km. Then turn left onto Wonderland Rd and stay on it for the next 1.2km. The road surface is sealed. A massive car park is located at the end of the road. Toilets are available here. From the parking, follow a well-signposted Turret Falls track: turn right, then walk along the creek (upstream). The track is a flat one with spectacular views of the rocks and streams. In 25-30 minutes you will reach the top of the falls. Then the track crosses the creek and brings you to a viewing point. The falls must be impressive, but it has no water in a dry season. Return via the same route. |
